VA Cooperative Extension
Guardian Federal Credit Union is partnering with Virginia Cooperative Extension to host a Reality Store on July 17, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 309 County ST, Portsmouth, VA 23704. It is free for all students who are up coming 8th graders to college age. Please RSVP by July 12, 2012.
The Reality Store is designed to give youth a glimpse of what their lives might be like in the future and to help them become aware of their needs for basic skills in financial planning, goal setting, decision-making and career planning where they can examine their attitudes about their futures and their career aspirations. A basic premise of the Reality Store is to encourage participates to evaluate their career options and motivate them to pursue higher education while motivating them to stay in school, stay away from drugs and avoid teenage pregnancy.
